Up and Over.

Posted by mervfrench on December 13, 2010

This shot is in the Swiss Alpes which by coincidence just happen to be in Switzerland.  You can clearly see the zig zag road coming down to the small village in the valley and the same road coming up in the foreground.  It was quite a climb out for the camper but an even scarier ride going down hill as I was on the brakes the whole way down and when we pulled up in the village there was smoke coming off the brakes.  I had to slowly drive up and down the only bit of flat road around the village to get some air into the brakes and cool them down.

I’ve just replaced the first image with this one, a two image handheld stitch with the S90.

Classic Alpine vista nicely done. I did it on a motor bike and there were places I couldn’t get off or even stop as it was so steep I couldn’t get it on the stand. They were pre-digital days so I have a few slides but not as nice as this shot.

We saw some idio ….. i mean bikers going through here. I thought a bike might have been a good way to go up and down that zig zag.

You can get those slides scanned and put them up on your new blog soon.

Brilliant image Merv mate! S90, what a ripper. It would very cool on my BMW R1200GS, sounds like I better hook up with Muzz and go for a hoot.

  4. Pretty good for a P & S …. Could be the centre page of the new book ?
